中藤毅彦写真集「White Noise」がZEN FOTO GALLERYより出版されました。
弊社は、この写真集を作成するにあたり、著者の中藤様、ZEN FOTO GALLERYのアマンダ様・野村様に何度かご来社いただき、出張校正、印刷立ち会いにお付き合いいただきました。製本についても魅せる写真集で、開いた瞬間から著者の世界に引き込まれる凝った仕様となっております。

印刷についてのこだわり/Print director’s note 

モノクロとカラーのページが渾然一体となった構成ということで、印刷で写真集の迫力を極限まで引き出すにあたり, 今回は３つの点に関して当社ならではの工夫を凝らしました。

Since「White Noise」has unique character of its co-existence of color and black & white pages, our focus as printer are following 3 points to maximize vividness and sheer intensity of the work.

1,モノクロのページについては暗部の階調を残しつつスミ（黒）を可能な限り強く出すこと。実際の印刷でインキをギリギリまで盛っても暗部が潰れないように製版段階で微妙な調整を施しています。

In regards to black and white page, it’s all about blackness, pitch blackness of dark parts. While we have challenged highest possible density, our struggle was how we can avoid killing its delicate tone as much as possible.

2,カラーのページは一般的なプロセス４色印刷で極限まで彩度を上げる方向で製版。主要色から反対色の成分を抜くことで濁りを抑え、鮮烈さを表現しています。ただし、彩度を上げることで階調は損なわれます。作品の意向を汲み取り、製版にあたり一点一点の写真で強調されるべきポイントを注意深く見極めています。

Our focus in 4 color pages was to really improve saturation by reducing opposite color component from main color however, that can easily destroy tones on the other hand. What’s always in our mind in the process is we always have to make our best effort to understand the purpose of the Author.

3,モノクロとカラーのページが見開きになる部分では、二者を対立させず相乗効果を出すことを狙いました。モノクロとカラーページのボリューム感をできるだけ揃えることを意識しています。

When black and white pages appears in spread, we paid attention in making powerful synergy. Not to make them fight against each other, we struggled to balance “in-your-face” feel of each page.
